Ilhan Omar Refuses to Back Muslim Brotherhood Terror Probe After Boulder Attack

On Wednesday, Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) declined to endorse a letter from her Democrat colleague, Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), urging an investigation into the Muslim Brotherhood’s foreign terrorist ties, along with a formal designation of the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization. The request comes on the heels of a deadly terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, where Mohamed Soliman, an illegal undocumented immigrant from Egypt—reportedly affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood—firebombed Jewish Americans rallying in support of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. Omar’s refusal to support the probe has drawn criticism, given her past associations with individuals linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and her repeated reluctance to condemn symbols of terror organizations like Hamas.

When pressed by Loomer Unleashed on whether she supported designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization, Omar brushed off the question, saying, “Have a nice day, enjoy your clicks.”
Past Ties: Omar’s 2019 Meeting with Muslim Brotherhood-Affiliated Family
In 2019, Omar publicly met with the family members of Hoda Abdelmonem, a woman with reported ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. In a tweet following the meeting, Omar urged the Trump administration to pressure Egypt for Abdelmonem’s release:
“I recently met with @jkbadawy and @thefreedomi to talk about Hoda Abdelmonem, a political prisoner in Egypt. I hope that Trump brings up her case in his meeting with the regime that has imprisoned her. We must work to #FreeHoda.”
According to a Guardian article titled “Massacre of Muslim Brotherhood Enables Sister to Emerge from Shadows”, Abdelmonem was identified as a “senior Muslim Sister” within the organization:
“Women have long been active in the Brotherhood and do not need to be part of its leadership,” Abdelmonem reportedly said. The Guardian, May 26, 2014
Pattern of Silence on Anti-Jewish Terror
Omar has also refused to address multiple instances of Islamic terrorism and pro-Hamas activity. On February 3, 2025, she declined to comment on President Trump’s decision to defund the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) over its alleged connections to Hamas and their involvement in the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel that killed over 1,200 people.
When questioned by Loomer Unleashed on March 24 about Hamas symbols being displayed outside the White House, Omar dismissed the concern as “ridiculous.”
On April 10th, she again declined to denounce Hamas flags flown during an April 5th protest.
Dangerous Democrat Double Standard on Terrorism
Omar’s pattern of avoiding direct condemnation of anti-Jewish terrorism—especially after recent events, including the murder of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, D.C., and the Boulder firebombing—raises serious questions about Democratic leadership’s willingness to address Islamic terror.

Omar’s refusal to support even a basic investigation into the Muslim Brotherhood sends a troubling message about the Democrat party’s stance on national security, antisemitism, and the protection of American and Jewish lives.
